The latest $1,500 event at the 2017 World Series of Poker drew a sizable field of 1,763 entrants, creating a total prize pool of $2,380,050. In fact, the field was so large that it took an unscheduled fourth day of action to determine the winner.

In the end, the title went to Artur Rudziankov, who earned his first WSOP bracelet and the $395,918 first-place prize. The win was particularly satisfying for the 29-year-old from Prague, after he finished runner-up in a $1,000 no-limit hold’em event back in 2015.

“I had more confidence this time around,” said Rudziankov after his win. "And of course I got lucky a couple of times.

The win represents the second ever bracelet for the Czech Republich. Tom Junek won a $1,500 no-limit hold’em event back in 2012 to become the first.

“Yeah, he’s one of our friends,” said Rudziankov of Junek. “He is not going to be very happy,” he joked.

Notables who made a deep run included Timothy Miles (3rd), Lee Watkinson (6th), John Esposito (7th), Martin Kabrhel (8th), John Phan (10th), Asi Moshe (12th), Taylor Paur (16th), Larry Little (33rd), Phil Laak (38th), Joe Kuether (42nd) and Chance Kornuth (47th).
