Barry Seidman Wins 2017 Card Player Poker Tour Ocean's 11 San Diego Classic

Barry Seidman emerged victorious from a field of 910 total entries to win the July running of 2017 Card Player Poker Tour Ocean’s 11 San Diego Clasic $250 buy-in no-limit hold’em event. For the win Seidman earned a $38,873 payday, the largest cash on his poker resume. Seidman finished 70th in this same event back in April.

This was the second largest CPPT event held at Ocean’s 11 Casino in terms of field size. The tournament featured six starting flights, which drew 846 entries, as well as a Quantum Reload day 2 direct buy-in option that saw 64 players put up $1,500 to enter the final day of the event with an average stack of 120,000. As a result of the fantastic turnout, the event built a total prize pool of $246,400 to blow away the $150,000 prize pool estimate.

Gavin GriffinWhile Seidman was the last player standing, a number of notable players also made deep runs in this event. Card Player columnist and poker triple crown winner Gavin Griffin finished 11th for $3,480. Incredibly, he finished in the exact same spot in the April running of this event, earning $3,360 back in the spring. Seventh-place finisher Danny Illingworth added $6,875 to his lifetime live earnings of over $550,000. The So Cal native also cashed in this event in April, finishing 108th.

This was the fourth CPPT event held at the legendary Ocean’s 11 Casino, which is celebrating the 20th anniversary of its opening this year. In April of 2016, Robert DeAgazio took home $23,813 for topping a field of 778 entries. In January of 2017, Barry Knowlton pocketed $17,157 after he outlasted a field of 582. The previous largest running of this event took place in April, when Shawn Busse outlasted a massive field of 920 total entries to win $48,910.

Ocean’s 11 is the only casino in Southern California located along the Pacific Ocean on the Interstate 5 freeway, less than a mile from some of the area’s most picturesque beaches. It boasts 50 tables of the best poker and table games found anywhere in California with all the favorite poker games, including no-limit and limit Texas hold’em, Omaha, Omaha hi-lo split eight-or-better, pot-limit Omaha, and crazy pineapple.
