Day 1B of the $400,000 guaranteed, $1,100 buy-in Card Player Poker Tour main event at the Bicycle Hotel & Casino is now in the books. The second of three starting flights drew 149 entries. With 112 entries on day 1A the total has grown to 261, with day 1C and day 2 direct buy-ins still available.
The night ended when only 25 percent of the field remained, which meant that 37 players advanced from this flight to day 2. Leading the way is Ubaid Habid with 332,300. Other big stacks from the day include Alex Hua (281,000), Andy Stracuzzi (267,300) and Frank Lin (210,000). Lin finished second in the CPPT Hollywood Park back in 2015, falling heads up to Adam Volen. Volen also played today and made day 2 with 39,800.
Other notable players who survived the day include two-time WSOP bracelet winner Nipun Java (162,700), 2017 WSOP $1,111 Litte One For One Drop winner Adrian Moreno (141,800), ‘Shades of Blue’ television star Gino Pesi (107,000) and Chris DeMaci (91,100).
There were plenty of notable players who turned out on Sunday that failed to make it through the day, including World Poker Tour champion Matt Salsberg, Kelly Minkin, Ryan Lenaghan, Bobby Suer, Mike Eskandari, Candace Collins and seven-time WSOP bracelet winner Men “The Master” Nguyen.
If you’d like to play in the main event this weekend, there is still plenty of time to register. Players can enter day 1C on Monday, or even take advantage of the tournament’s quantum reload structure, which allows players to buy-in to day 2 directly on Tuesday, receiving an average stack of 60 big blinds.
There are still opportunities to win your buy-in at a discount, including last chance $450 satellites to day 2 taking place on Monday at 4 p.m. and 8 p.m.
Be sure to check back in the coming days for more action from the Bicycle Hotel & Casino as the field plays down to a winner, with the final table being streamed on Live At The Bike! this Wednesday.
