This week, The Card Player Poker Tour returned to The Venetian Poker Room in Las Vegas for the 2017 CPPT Venetian December Extravaganza: a 15-event tournament series with more than $900,000 in guaranteed prize pools. The marquee event of the series is set to kick off on Friday, Dec. 8. The $3,500 buy-in CPPT Venetian December Extravaganza no-limit hold’em main event runs from Dec. 8-11 and features a $500,000 guarantee. Each day of tournament action will begin at noon local time.
Players in this nine-handed main event will start with 40,000 in chips and initial blinds of 75-150. Levels will be an hour long throughout the event. Day 1 will last eight levels, with registration and re-entry remaining available until the start of level 13 on day 2. If you’d like to win your way into the main event at a discount, the Venetian has three $400 mega satellites on the schedule running daily from Dec. 6-8. The Dec. 7 mega satellite kicks off at 7:05 PM and has six guaranteed seats, while the Dec. 8 mega satellite
This tournament will be the fourth CPPT main event held in The Venetian Poker Room. Allyn Shulman won the 2013 $5,000 buy-in CPPT Venetian for $293,966 after defeating a field of 262 entries. In the 2016 CPPT Venetian $5,000 main event Jon Turner outlasted a 537-entry field to win a massive $536,858 payday. The most recent Card Player Poker Tour Venetian main event champion is Javier Gomez. The Spanish poker pro topped a 688-entry field to win the 2017 CPPT Venetian $5,000 main event for $561,349
