Timothy Adams has won the 2017 PokerStars Championship Prague €50,000 super high roller no-limit hold’em event, outlasting a field of 34 total entries to capture the title and the €555,000 ($654,900 USD) first place prize.

This was Adam’s third largest score of his career, and it brought his lifetime live earnings to $7,769,120. He now sits in sixth place on the Canadian all-time money, just ahead of Sam Greenwood who finished fifth in this event.

In addition to the money, Adams also earned 510 Card Player Player of the Year points. This was Adam’s second title and 14th final table finish of the year, and as a result he has climbed into 21st place on the 2017 POY leaderboard, which is presented by the Commerce Hotel & Casino.

Adams was far from the only player to make a move near the top of the leaderboard as a result of this tournament. In fact, of the six players that made the money in this event, only fourth-place finisher Orpen Kisacikoglu is not currently in the top 25.

Koray Aldemir earned $134,874 USD and 170 as the sixth-place finisher. This was his 17th final table, and with 5,510 points and $4,105,519 in year-to-date earnings, he has moved into fourth place in the standings. Sam Greenwood’s fifth-place finish for $173,460 USD and 213 points moved him into 19th place. He’s made nine final tables and won one title so far.

Adrian Mateos scored $288,982 USD and 340 points at his 20th final table of the year. The 23-year-old Spanish superstar has won four titles and cashed for $5,446,753 in 2017, and as a result, he now sits in second place on the POY leaderboard behind only Bryn Kenney.

Mikita Badziakouski was the runner-up in this event. The $452,648 USD and 425 points he notched in this event moved him inside the top ten. The Belarussian’s 4,579 points are good enough for ninth place at the moment.
