The Keystone State slot machine industry generated a combined $177.8 million last month, according to figures from gaming regulators.

The roughly 26,000 slot machines spread between the 12 casinos won $180.3 million from gamblers in January 2017, which reflects a 1.4 percent decrease.

The casinos last month paid $92.6 million in state taxes on the revenue.

Parx Casino, located outside of Philadelphia, lead the way with $30.9 million of January’s winnings. Its slots revenue was up about two percent.

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board announced shortly after the start to 2018 that the state’s 12 casinos took in $2.33 billion from their slot machines in 2017. The amount was one percent off from 2016’s $2.36 billion in slot win.

In October, the legislature passed a gambling reform package that included the legalization of online casino games such as slots and peer-to-peer poker. The idea is to shore up the nation’s no. 2 commercial casino market, which hasn’t seen a meaningful year-over-year increase in gambling spend since 2012.

While slots have struggled, the casinos won $890.7 million from table games last year. That figure was 4.4 percent more than the $853.2 million won from table games in 2016.
