The 2018 partypoker LIVE MILLIONS Germany €50,000 no-limit hold’em super high roller featured a €1 million guarantee, which was blown out of the water when 47 total entries were made to bring the final prize pool to €2,232,500 ($2,763,522 USD). The lion’s share of that money was ultimately awarded to Chi Zhang, who emerged victorious with the title and the top prize of €800,000 ($990,288 USD). The 22-year-old high stakes cash game player hailing from the United Kingdom overcame a tough final table to capture the largest payday of his career.

Zhang came into the final day in the middle of the pack with eight players remaining. Timothy Adams went on a spree early, eliminating a player who goes by the name ‘Big Tony’, Patrik Antonius on the money bubble, and the Dietrich Fast in sixth place ($160,922 USD). Italy’s Mustapha Kanit had entered the day as the chip leader, and he added to his stack by busting Felipe Ramos in fifth place ($222,815 USD).

With four players remaining Zhang was the shortest stack. He was able to chip a bit before knocking out Tobias Ziegler in fourth place ($321,844) to close the gap. Zhang sent Adams to the rail in third place ($448,724 USD) when his two-pair sniffed out Adam’s river bluff.

With that Zhang took a roughly 2-to-1 lead into heads-up play against Kanit. The two battled it out for a while, but eventually, it came down to a coin flip with Kanit holding the ASpade Suit9Spade Suit against Zhang’s 4Heart Suit4Diamond Suit. The board ran out QDiamond Suit7Diamond Suit5Spade Suit10Diamond SuitQSpade Suit and Zhang’s pair held up, earning him the pot and Sending Kanit to the rail with $618,930 USD.

Zhang was awarded 510 Card Player Player of the Year points as the champion of this event while Kanit earned 425. This was Kanit’s fifth final-table finish of 2018 already, and as a result he climbed into 17th place in the POY rankings with 1,345 points and $1,124,808 in year-to-date earnings.

Here is a look at the payouts awarded in this event:
