“Look, I’ve been there. I’m actually well known for a post I made on the 2+2 [poker forums] where I said that I was ‘reaching the end of my rope and can’t seem to win no matter what I do. How do I turn it around?’ Luckily enough for me, I did manage to find a way to turn it around and now I want to give you guys a 4-step process on how to do the same thing,” says Polk at the start of this video.
Polk goes on to outline four clear steps to take that can help you be at the top of your poker game. The first step is all about focusing your efforts on one specific form of the poker.
“Pick a game type! I can’t stress this enough,” says Polk. “For some reason, people have to hop over here, hop over there, play a little sit’n’gos, play a little tournament, play a little cash. Don’t do that! Pick a game that is a combination of something you like and also has a lot of games running. it is as simple as that. It can be any game type… but pick a game and that is what you’re going to commit yourself to. Until you find success there, don’t branch out. As a new player, it is hard for you to step in and win in games where people have been studying a lot. So don’t put yourself at a disadvantage by playing a wide array of games. Pick one, and start to get good at it.”
