Phil Hellmuth has a chance to make World Series of Poker history today. If he wins the $1,500 no-limit event that began Saturday, he will have won more WSOP bracelets than anyone in the world. The table starts at 2 p.m. PT.

He's currently in a three-way tie with Doyle Brunson and Johnny Chan with 10 bracelets. All of Hellmuth's bracelets come in Texas hold'em events.

Hellmuth enters the final table of the $1,500 no limit event second in chips with $1.4 million, only about $300,000 behind the chip leader, Rick Fuller.

Hellmuth's bracelet run begin in 1989 when he won the $10,000 WSOP main event. He also won bracelets in the 1992 $5,000 limit event, 1993 $1,500 limit event, 1993 $2,000 no-limit event, 1993 $5,000 no-limit event, 1997 $3,000 pot-limit event, 2001 $2,000 no-limit event, 2003 $2,500 limit event, 2003 $3,000 no-limit event, and the 2006 $1,000 no-limit rebuy event.

He has more WSOP cashes than anyone else in the world (58) for $4,886,672. (That total doesn't include what he'll win today.)

Hellmuth - and all the players at today's final table - had to make it through a field that included 2,628 players. The top prize is $637,254, and if he wins, he'll move past Raymer on the WSOP money list.
