The Card Player Poker Tour main event at the Choctaw Casino & Resort kicked off Friday at noon local time with 384 entries turning out for the $1,100 buy-in tournament. There’s a $1 million guaranteed prize pool, and players begin with a deep 20,000-chip stack.
Day 1b action begins at noon local time in Durant, Oklahoma on Saturday, so there’s still plenty of time to enter and compete for the seven-figure prize pool. There will also be satellite seats available Saturday for those looking to win an entry for a smaller investment of $240.
Registration for the final starting day closes at the start of level 13, which will be around 9:45 p.m. CDT. Card Player’s live reporting team is on site for live coverage.
Poker players in the area should head over to the Choctaw Casino & Resort for a chance to compete for the seven-figure prize pool. The tournament needs more than 1,000 players in order for there not to be an overlay.
Play moved steadily along on Day 1a, with the entrants playing a full 18 levels prior to stopping play for the evening. The players enjoyed levels 40 minutes in length, and when the dust settled the chip leader at the end of the day was Texan Jim Caroll, who added a bunch of chips near the end of the evening.
