One of Maryland’s largest casinos will get a big boost on Wednesday.
Live! Casino’s $200 million hotel tower, equipped with 17 floors, will began welcoming guests this week. It’s reportedly the tallest building in Anne Arundel County.
The 310-room hotel tower features meeting space, as well as a spa, fitness center, concert venue and new shopping and dining options. About 1,000 additional parking spaces were also added to the property.
The project is the largest enhancement and investment at the casino since its opening in June 2012. The Cordish Companies, owner of the casino, announced the project in June 2016, ahead of the December opening of the $1.4 billion MGM National Harbor located outside of Washington D.C. Ground was broken on the hotel complex back in September 2016.
MGM opened its casino with a 308-room hotel.
As the poker community is well-aware of, the casino is home to a 15,000-square foot, 52-table poker room. Opening roughly four years ago, the room is the largest in the state and one of the largest in the country. Live! Casino & Hotel (formerly Maryland Live! Casino) also has more than 200 table games and 4,000 slot machines.
