Aymon Hata has won the 2018 Triton Poker High Roller Sochi ₽3,000,000 ($47,384 USD) buy-in super high roller, part of the partypoker LIVE! MILLIONS Russia festival that is running throughout the first half of August. The British poker pro outlasted a field comprised of 47 total entries to win the top prize of ₽48,000,000 ($720,000 USD) for the second largest score of his career.

Hata finished third in the $100,000 buy-in high roller at the World Series of Poker for $1,247,230 back in early June. These are the sole final-table finishes for Hata in 2018, but the two scores alone are worth nearly $2 million and 1,220 Card Player Player of the Year points.

Only the top six finishers made the money in this event, with recent Tritan short-deck super high roller winner Ivan Leow being eliminated on the bubble when his ace-ten failed to come from behind to beat the pocket queens of Patrik Antonius or the pocket hacks of Paul Phua.

Patrik Antonius sent Philipp Gruissem to the rail in sixth place ($112,500 USD) to keep himself within striking distance of the chip lead, which was held by Hata at the time. Antonius surpassed him not long after when his pocket kings beat Phua’s pocket nines, knocking Phua out in fifth place ($157,500 USD). It was all downhill from there for the Finish super stat, though. Vladimir Troyanovskiy doubled through him and then Hata made the nut flush over his lower hearts to send Antonius home in fourth place ($225,000 USD).

Hata eliminated Konstantin Uspenskii in third place ($337,500 USD) to take more than a 2-to-1 lead into heads-up action against Troyanovskiy. He extended that advantage to more than 5-to-1 by the time the final hand arose.

With blinds of 20,000-40,000 and a big-blind ante of 40,000 Troyanovskiy mvoed all-in for 364,000 from the button with the JSpade Suit7Club Suit. Hata called with the KClub Suit4Club Suit. The QSpade Suit6Spade Suit2Heart Suit2Club Suit3Spade Suit saw Hata’s king high remain the best hand. With that he earned the pot and the title, knocking Troyanovskiy out in second palce ($477,900 USD). Check out the video replay of the final hand below:
