In what investigators are calling a “gambling feud” that turned bloody, two Memphis men are dead, and four more are injured following a shooting in Tennessee Saturday night.
“Investigators have interviewed several people on the scene and at the hospitals,” said the Shelby County Sheriff’s office through social media. “It’s believed that this incident occurred as a result of a feud while gambling. Investigators believe that this was an isolated incident and that the victims knew the suspects.”
The identities of the casualties, 18-year-old Marcus Conway, and 22-year-old Marquese Taylor, were released on Sunday. The other four victims are aged from 13 to 21, with conditions that originally ranged from serious to critical. By Monday, one had been released from the hospital and the other three were upgraded to non-critical condition.
One person has been released from the hospital, three others are listed in non-critical condition. So far, at least 10 investigators have participated in the Sunridge Drive shooting investigation. No arrests have been made. This investigation remains ongoing.
