Airplane Banner Criticizing New York Jets-MGM Resorts Partnership Circles NFL StadiumGun Control Activists Shame NFL Franchise, Casino Operator Over Las Vegas Massacre Victim Lawsuits |

Before the New York Jets took the field Sunday for their game against the Buffalo Bills, a plane circled MetLife Stadium with a message to the NFL organization and their recent partners, MGM Resorts.
“Shame on Jets/MGM. #EndGunViolence #StopMGM,” read the banner.
MGM Resorts is taking heat from gun control activists upset over the Las Vegas-company’s decision to preemptively sue victims of the mass shooting that occurred at the Route 91 Harvest festival last year. A total of 58 people were killed in the massacre, with hundreds left injured.
The source of the airplane message is unclear, but some New York politicians are agreeing with its sentiment, including State Senator Jessica Ramos.
New York’s about people and gun control is about keeping people alive. @MGMResortsIntl is unconscionably suing shooting victims and just doesn’t get it, so they’re not welcomed here. #StopMGM https://t.co/fPvoYX6mBV

While the Jets declined to comment, MGM issued a statement saying, “We wholeheartedly agree that our country needs to put an end to gun violence.”
MGM is looking to avoid liability claims with their suits, but is not seeking any money from the victims.
Ever since the Supreme Court nixed the federal sports betting ban, otherwise known as the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act of 1992, the company has ventured further into the world of sports. MGM recently became the first official sports betting partner of the NHL.
