The World Cup Of Cards Returns To Playground Poker Club In January of 2019

The Third WCC Will Run From Jan. 20 - Feb. 6, and Feature More Than $2 Million In Guarantees

The Playground Poker Club has announced that it will be hosting the third running of the World Cup of Cards (WCC) in 2019. The 29-event series will run from Jan. 20 – Feb. 6, with more than $2 million CAD in guarantees up for grabs. The World Cup of Cards will have something for everyone, with buy-ins ranging from as low as $110 CAD all the way up to $1,650 CAD and plenty of exciting games and formats on offer.

The series is centered around three marquee events with over $1.5 million in combined guaranteed prize pools: the $220 CAD partypoker LVIE Grand Prix Canada $500,000 CAD guaranteed no-limit hold’em event, the $1,650 CAD WPTDeepStacks $750,000 CAD guaranteed no-limit hold’em event and the $1,100 CAD Card Player Poker Tour $250,000 guaranteed no-limit hold’em event.

The 2019 WCC kicks off with the return of the $220 CAD partypoker LIVE Grand Prix Canada. The $500,000 CAD guaranteed event features five online starting flights and 12 live starting flights from Jan. 23 – 27. The survivors will combine into one field on Jan. 27 and play to a final table, which will play down to a champion on Jan. 28. The $1,65 CAD WPTDeepStacks $750,000 CAD guaranteed event kicks off on Feb. 1 with the first of three starting flights, with the final winner to be decided on Feb. 5.

2017 WCC CPPT champion Luc BelleriveThe $1,100 CAD buy-in, $250,000 CAD guaranteed Card Player Poker Tour main event gets underway with the first of two starting flights on Feb. 4. Those who make it through to day 2 will return on Feb. 6 to play down to a champion. In 2017 the WCC CPPT main event was a $1,650 no-limit hold’em tournament. It drew a field of 191 entries, with Quebec’s Luc Bellerive emerging victorious with the title and the $98,000 CAD top prize.
