A total of 21 entries were made in the first of three starting flights of the 2018 Card Player Poker Tour Seneca Fall Poker Classic $1,000 no-limit hold’em main event. As in recent years, the tournament once again features a $200,000 guaranteed prize pool. The eventual champion of this event will not only walk away with a handsome payday, but they will also make the cover of an upcoming issue of Card Player magazine!

From the 21 entries on day 1A, only three player players survived to make day 2. The chip leader at the end of the night was Barry Kruger, who bagged up 424,000. 2015 Fall Poker Classic main event third-place finisher Alex Visbisky won the final hand of the night, eliminating George Alemkunnapuzha to narrow the field to three. Visbisky called Alemkunnapuzha’s all-in with pocket sixes and made quads on the river to bring about the end of play for the day.

2016 champion of this event Dan Wagner was eliminated late in the night, running a straight into the full house of Alemkunnapuzha.

The second of three starting flight will begin on Friday, Nov. 16 at 11:00 a.m. local time, with the final flight kicking off at the same time on Saturday, Nov. 17. Players will start with 30,000 in chips, with 40-minute blind levels. Late registration and unlimited re-entries are available until the start of Level 11. The schedule calls for each starting flight to play 15 levels or until the field is narrowed to the final 12 percent. Players may enter all of the flights, but only their largest stack will carry forward for Day 2.

2017 Champion Guy KlassLast year the $200,000 guarantee for this event was easily surpassed when 271 total entries built a final prize pool of $239,212. In the end, Guy Klass came out on top, capturing the title and the top prize of $58,608.
