Atlantic City Mayor Frank GilliamAtlantic City Mayor Frank Gilliam and City Councilman Jeffree Fauntleroy will not face criminal charges following a fight outside of a Golden Nugget Casino nightclub on Nov. 11.

The Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office made the announcement Wednesday following the investigation of the incident at Haven Nightclub. The two men will have to deal with the citizen’s complaints filed against them in court next month.

The recently released video footage of the incident shows Mayor Gilliam throwing several punches, and Fauntleroy is shown throwing one of three nightclub workers to the ground. There has been no report as to how or why the fight started.

The AC Democratic Committee is calling for both men to resign, or for the Governor to suspend or remove them from office.

“We find this atmosphere of inappropriate behavior and transgressions, to be unacceptable, specifically regarding the alleged aggressive behavior toward women while serving in a public capacity. Such behavior is beyond the norms of conduct of elected officials. This alleged conduct is disgraceful and extremely disturbing and should not go without reproach,” the committee said in a statement.
