Card Player Poker Tour Venetian DeepStack Showdown Kicks Off Wednesday

More Than $1 Million In Guarantees Up For Grabs From Dec. 5 - 16

The Card Player Poker Tour has returned to The Venetian in Las Vegas, Nevada for the second straight year of the DeepStack Showdown poker tournament series. The 30-event festival is set to run from Wednesday, Dec. 5 through Sunday, Dec. 16, with more than $1 million in guaranteed prize money on the line. The DeepStack Showdown has something for everyone, with buy-ins as low as $80 all the way up to the $3,500 CPPT no-limit hold’em main event.

The kickoff event is a single-day $400 DoubleStack with a $30,000 guarantee, which gets underway at noon on Dec. 5. The first weekend of the series will see the $1,100 DoubleStack with two starting flights and a $150,000 guarantee. There is even a $150,000 guaranteed DoubleStack event with a $600 buy-in, and four separate $30,000 guaranteed DoubleStack no-limit hold’em tournaments with a $400 buy-in.

Looking for some tournament action outside of standard no-limit hold’em events? The DeepStack Showdown has plenty of other formats on the schedule include bounty tournaments, Omaha eight-or-better, survivor events, rebuys, and a senior’s event.

The centerpiece of the whole affair is the $500,000 guaranteed CPPT main event. The $3,500 buy-in, three-day big blind ante tournament kicks off Dec. 14. Players will start out with 40,000 in chips and enjoy 60-minute blind levels. This peerless event, in tandem with the famous hospitality and amenities of The Venetian, is the must-attend poker event poker players have been waiting for.

2017 CPPT Venetian DeepStack Showdown Champion Mike DentaleThe 2017 running of this event saw Mike Dentale overcome a field of 235 entrants to win the $185,061 first-place prize. The tournament’s $740,250 prize pool easily surpassed the $500,000 guarantee, and tournament officials are expecting more of the same this year.

Players will have plenty of chances to win their main event seat at a discount with several satellite options. The Venetian will be running $400 mega satellites on Dec. 12, 13, and 14.
