2018 World Poker Tour Five Diamond World Poker Classic Main Event Kicks Off Tuesday

$10,400 Buy-In Main Event To Run Dec. 11 - 15

The World Poker Tour has returned once again to the Bellagio Resort & Casino in Las Vegas for the 2018 WPT Five Diamond World Poker Classic $10,400 buy-in no-limit hold’em main event. The tournament is set to run from Dec. 11 – 15, with players able to late register or re-enter until the start of level 12.

This tournament is one of the largest and most prestigious events on the WPT main tour schedule. A number of big-name players have emerged victorious in this event over the years, including Kevin Eyster (2015), Mohsin Charania (2014), Dan Smith (2013), Ravi Raghavan (2012), Antonio Esfandiari (2010), Daniel Alaei (2009), Chino Rheem (2008), Eugene Katchalov (2007), Joe Hachem (2006), Daniel Negreanu (2004) and inaugural champion Gus Hansen (2002).

2017 Champion Ryan TosocIn 2017 Ryan Tosoc improved on his second-place finish in this event from the previous year, defeating a field of 812 total entries to win $1,958,065 and his first WPT title. He had taken home more than $1.1 million as the second place finisher in 2016, which means that he earned in excess of $3 million in a two-year span in this event.

Players will start with 40,000 in chips in this event, with hour-long levels for day 1. Levels will increase to 90 minutes in length on days 2-4 before returning to an hour in length for the final table. The tournament will utilize the big-blind ante format.
