2019 Card Player Poker Tour Ocean's 11 San Diego Classic: Recap of Flights 1E and 1F677 Entries Were Made During The Six Starting Flights With Day 2 Direct Entry Still Available |
|
All six starting flights have come to a close in the April running of the 2019 Card Player Poker Tour Ocean’s 11 San Diego Classic. A total of 677 entries made over the past three days, with day 2 entry still available for those looking to get in on the action. Flight 1E drew 168 entries while flight 1F added another 125. As a result of the strong turnout, the prize pool currently sits at $135,400, a number that will continue to grow as day 2 entries are made.
Players who would like to take advantage of the Quantum Tournament structure of this event can buy directly into day 2 for $1,500 on Sunday, Apr. 28 and receive 100,000 in tournament chips. Players can also pay a $30 optional staff add-on and receive another 20,000 in chips. Players can re-enter once before the end of the second level on day 2.
From the 293 entries made in Saturday’s two starting flights, only 43 players made it through to day 2, joining the 57 survivors from flights 1A, 1B, 1C and 1D. After the completion of all six starting flights, Raymond Dayawon ended up being the overall chip leader with 452,500.
The second largest stack heading into day 2 belongs to 2014 World Poker Tour Legends of Poker main event runner-up finisher Mike Eskandari. The Southern California tournament regular has more than $2 million in career earnings, with his highest finish in a Card Player Poker Tour coming when he placed second in the 2014 CPPT Westside Poker Championship.
Other big stacks include Veronica Daly (210,300), Donald Pennington (199,000), Jay Chavkin (199,000) and Richard Chun (198,500). Daly finished third in this same event in July of 2018, earning $21,385.
There are 96 players that will return to day 2, not including those who will buy in directly. A total of five players have qualified twice: Shawn Daniels, Daviel Illingworth, Howard Cornbleth, Jimmy Ong and Teri Chavkin. They will all be taking their largest of stack forward.
