FireKeepers Casino HotelFollowing a wildly successful Mid-States Poker Tour stop last spring, FireKeepers Casino Hotel in Battle Creek, Michigan is hosting another massive tournament this fall.

The MSPT returns to FireKeepers to host the Michigan State Poker Championship. The main event, which carries a $1,100 buy-in and a $1 million guaranteed prize pool, will run from October 10-13. It will feature three starting flights before the field combines for Day 2 to play down to a winner.

Last May, FireKeepers hosted its first of two MSPT stops this year. The main event drew 1,592 entries, creating a prize pool of more than $1.5 million, easily shattering the $1 million guarantee. Chris Moon took it down for a whopping $258,407. It was the largest field in Michigan poker history.

Last October, at the last Michigan State Poker Championship, Matt Stammen, the older brother of top pro Keven Stammen, bested the 1,271-entry field to earn the title and $218,565. The staff is expecting a similar turnout, which would be the sixth consecutive MSPT event at FireKeepers with a seven-figure prize pool.

If you want to get into the event for less than the $1,100 buy-in, there are super satellites and qualifiers running now through October 11 for as low as $65.

“Poker is a priority at FireKeepers Casino and we have witnessed enormous increases in participation and prize pools in MSPT events over the last two years,” said Lance Allen, Vice President of Table Games at FireKeepers. “Every day, our spacious 22-table, non-smoking poker room offers a great array of tournaments and an outstanding spread of games and limits.”

FireKeepers, which is located just off of I-94 at exit 104, offers an AAA-rated Four Diamond resort-style hotel with 243 rooms, a functional multi-purpose event center, six distinctive dining destinations, and multiple lounges. Visit the casino website or call the poker room directly at 1-296-660-5631 for more information.
