The Card Player Poker Tour is set to return to Live! Casino & Hotel, which was voted Maryland’s Best Casino by Casino Player Magazine for six straight years.

The 25-event tournament series is set to run from Oct. 25 – Nov. 7, with buy-ins from as low as $160 all the way up to $1,100 for the 2019 CPPT Live! Casino & Hotel no-limit hold’em main event. The marquee tournament of this year’s series will run from Nov. 1-3 and feature a $200,000 guaranteed prize pool.

“We are excited to be teaming up with the Card Player Poker Tour for the second time,” said The Poker Room at Live! Casino & Hotel Tournament Director Jason Heidenthal. “The room opened in 2013 and since then our goal has been to make it the premier tournament destination in the D.C., Maryland and Virginia area.”

The Poker Room at Live! Casino & Hotel is one of the largest on the East Coast, with 15,000 square feet of room and 50 tables available for 24/7, around-the-clock action. The luxurious and comfortable room will play host to 13 days of exciting tournament play, with a variety of games and formats on the schedule. There are four bounty events, a $200 six-max no-limit hold’em event, a $300 H.O.R.S.E. event, a $200 limit five-card Omaha, a tag-team switch event, a $300 survivor tournament, ladies and seniors tournaments and much more.

The whole affair kicks off with a $100,000 guaranteed $360 buy-in no-limit hold’em event, with four starting flights available. Day 1A and day 1B begin at 11:15 a.m. and 5:15 p.m. on Oct. 25, with day 1C and day 1D getting underway at the same starting times on Oct. 26. The survivors of all four flights will combine and play down to a champion on Oct. 27.

The $200,000 guaranteed CPPT Live! Casino & Hotel no-limit hold’em main event sports two starting flights, with day 1A kicking off at 12:15 on Nov. 1 and day 1B at 12:15 on Nov. 2. Players will begin with 40,000 in chips, with 40-minute levels on the two starting days and hour-long levels on day 2. The event will feature unlimited re-entry, with late registration available until the start of day 2.

There will be plenty of ways for players to win their way into the big guaranteed tournaments that are on the schedule for this series.

“We plan on running a lot of satellites for both the kickoff tournament and the main event,” said Heidenthal. “There will be tons of ways for people to get into the $200,000 guaranteed CPPT main event. Those satellites will start being offered in early October.”

The Live! Casino & Hotel first teamed up with the Card Player Poker Tour in January of 2018. The inaugural series featured 16 events, with the marquee tournament being the $1,100 buy-in, $200,000 guaranteed no-limit hold’em main event. The tournament attracted a total of 307 total entries, blowing away the $200,000 guarantee to build a final prize pool of $307,000. The lion’s share of that was awarded to eventual champion Eric Ladny, who took home $54,022 and became the first-ever CPPT champion decided in Maryland.

Conveniently located between Baltimore and Washington D.C., Live! Casino & Hotel is open 24/7/365, features more than 200 live-action table games, approximately 4,000 of the latest slot machines, and two High Limit rooms. Those driving to the property can take advantage of the six-story parking garage with space for 5,000 vehicles. The property is home to 11 excellent dining establishments, including Bobby’s Burger Palace, Phillips Seafood Restaurant, and The Cheesecake Factory.

Players can book rooms at the Hotel, which features 310 luxurious rooms and 52 suites. The Hotel Tower is the tallest building in the county at 17 stories high! Those looking for another lodging option can check out Live! Lofts, conveniently located five minutes from Live! Casino & Hotel, which offer 250 guest rooms and suites.
