The Golden Gates Poker Room in Blackhawk, Colorado is set to host its 2019 Holiday Spectacular poker series starting on Thursday, December 5. The 23-event festival will run from Dec. 5 – 16, plenty of exciting tournaments on offer throughout the 12-day schedule.
The centerpiece of the whole affair is the $400 buy-in ‘Grand Spectacular’ no-limit hold’em event which kicks off on Dec. 5 at noon local time. The event features six starting flights and two day 2 flights in order to accommodate the large anticipated turnout. The first three starting flights will take place on Dec. 5-7, with the survivors coming back for Day 2A on Sunday, Dec. 8 at noon. The tournament picks back up again with the second wave of starting flights, all starting at noon on Dec. 12-14, with day 2B taking place on Sunday, Dec. 15. All day 1 starting flights will feature 30 minute levels with starting stacks of 30,000. Day 2 and beyond will see hour-long levels. This event will utilize the big blind ante format throughout.
All of the starting flights will play into the money, with the top ten percent of the field (rounded up) cashing. The day 2 flights will play until approximately 2 percent of the field remains. Players who bust out in the money on day 2A will be able to re-eventer on day 1D, 1E or 1F. Those who make it through either day 2 will bag up and return on Monday, Dec. 16 at noon for the ‘Grand Spectacular Finale’.
There will be eight different qualifier events held for those looking to win their way into the Grand Spectacular event at a lower price point. A full list of qualifiers and event start times can be found on the official schedule and structure sheet.
