Event 2 Winner Diego Lezcano With PBKC TD Wil HerreraThe Card Player Poker Tour put a bow on 2019 with a stellar showing at The Poker Room at Palm Beach Kennel Club. The five-event series in West Palm Beach ran during the holiday break between Dec. 26-31, bringing in the new year with some poker action.

The highlight of the CPPT series was the $60,000 guaranteed, $230 buy-in no-limit hold’em event. A whopping 548 players entered the tournament, blowing away the guarantee with a six-figure prize pool.

In the end, the final eight players agreed to an ICM (Independent Chip Model) chop of the remaining prize pool, with Diego Lezcano narrowly edging out Warren Irvine to come away the big winner with an $11,225 payout. Lezcano also won the Player of the Series award, taking home an extra $2,000 prize.

“We are extremely thrilled with the turn-out for the Card Player Poker Tour events at PBKC," said PBKC Poker Room Director Noah Carbone. "It seemed to be the right time of year and the right mix of exciting tournaments.”

The series was rounded out with a turbo no-limit hold’em event, a six-max bounty tournament, and even a pot-limit Omaha eight-or-better event.
