Las Vegas SuperBook Announces Second Location In Colorado Market

The Las Vegas SuperBook at the Westgate Resort & Casino is expanding its operations into the budding Colorado sports betting market.

According to the local NBC affiliate in Denver, the SuperBook is joining forces with Colorado-based Jacobs Entertainment to bring the second SuperBook to The Lodge Casino in Black Hawk.

With 30,000 square feet and a video wall spanning 240 feet by 20 feet high, the SuperBook is the largest sportsbook in the world. It was not reported whether or not the second location will have the same specifications as the original.

“We believe The Lodge is a perfect fit for our initial expansion opportunities outside Las Vegas,” said Jay Kornegay, the man hired to lead the operation, in a press release.

Given the lack of competition surrounding Colorado, many analysts believe it could be one of the most successful markets in the country. Early estimates have the state producing $6 billion annually in total bets taken.

Colorado legalized sports betting through a 2019 ballot initiative and the state plans to launch operations on May 1, despite major American professional sports still on a hiatus. Even if online betting operations launch on that date, if casinos aren’t open yet, then the launch of the second SuperBook will be postponed.
