On Wednesday, April 15, the World Series of Poker announced that they have partnered with global-facing GGPoker Network to host a WSOP Super Circuit Online Series in May. While the final schedule has not yet been released, the WSOP did confirm that there will be hundreds of events throughout the series, with 18 marquee events awarding WSOPC gold rings. This announcement comes just two weeks after the WSOP wrapped up their first WSOP.com Super Circuit Series, which was a last-minute addition to the schedule made due to the effective shutdown of the live tournament scene during the coronavirus outbreak.

Like the WSOPC’s live events, this upcoming series on GGPOker will award two seats to the $1,000,000 freeroll World Series of Poker Global Casino Championship bracelet event. The two seats will go to the main event winner and to the overall points leader at the conclusion of the series.

While exact dates have not been announced yet, the release indicated that the series will likely kick off in early May and run for around three weeks.

“I’m thrilled to reveal that GGPoker will be hosting the WSOP Super Circuit Online Series in partnership with World Series of Poker,” said Head of GGPoker Jean-Christophe Antoine. “A GGPoker and WSOP partnership brings together two like-minded global organizations, and I can’t wait to see GGPoker players competing for WSOP Circuit rings online!”

“We’re thrilled to partner with an operator on the rise who is both aggressive and passionate about growing poker engagement around the world. It was unfortunate that we were forced to cancel so many offline WSOP Circuit events this Spring, but with vast reach GGPoker plans to dwarf the prize pools of the suspended events all at once in one truly super WSOP Circuit,” commented Executive Director of World Series of Poker Ty Stewart.

Daniel Negreanu is one of the sponsored pros at GGPoker. The six-time bracelet winner and third-highest earning player tournament poker history shared his thoughts on the news, saying, "I give credit to the WSOP for bringing the circuit online during these trying times. Winning a circuit ring is a great honor. Online players will love the experience of chasing rings at GGPoker.”
