The 2020 PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker $10,300 buy-in no-limit hold’em main event attracted a field of 609 entries to easily surpass the event’s $5 million guarantee, creating a final prize pool of $6,090,000 that was paid out among the top 79 finishers. In the end the title and the largest share of that money was awarded to ‘Alexgirs’ from Belarus, who earned $920,596 for topping the sizable field and a stacked final table that included many of the biggest names in tournament poker.
After three full days on intense action, the field had been narrowed to just nine players left with a chance at the title. When play resumed for day 4, Pieter ‘XMorphineX’ Aerts was the clear chip leader with 38,539,059 (128 big blinds). The next-largest stack belonged to high roller Daniel ‘Oxota’ Dvoress, whose 28,570,379 was good for 95 big blinds when play resumed with 150,000-300,000 blinds and an ante of 37,500.
Finland’s ‘EEE27’ began the day with just 15 big blinds, and was the first to be eliminated when their pocket eights lost a preflop all-in to Dvoress’ A

. Dvoress made trip aces on the turn and held from there to send ‘EEE27’ to the rail with $95,745.
Benjamin ‘bencb789’ Rolle began the day in the middle of the pack with over 40 big blinds, but he lost a massive pot with a flopped king-high flush against a rivered full house for Max ‘goodeh99’ Silver. Rolle, who is the founder of the Raise Your Edge poker training site, got his last 6.5 big blinds or so in with A-9 from the cutoff, only to run into the A-K of ‘Alexgirs’. Rolle didn’t improve and was eliminated in eighth place ($118,392).
Despite winning the aforementioned big hand against Rolle, World Series of Poker bracelet winner Max Silver was the next to be eliminated. He ended up getting his last 20 big blinds in with 1010
and found himself in a race against the AK
of Aerts. Both players made a flush, but Aerts’ ace-high earned him the pot and the knockout. Silver settled for $161,992 as the seventh-place finisher.
Just a few minutes later two-time WSOP bracelet winner Michael ‘imluckbox’ Addamo was knocked out when his AK failed to outrun the KK of Alex ‘dynoalot’ Difelice. Addamo secured $221,648 for his sixth-place showing in this event.
Daniel Dvoress was second in chips when five-handed action began, and he managed to overtake the lead at one point. He lost a preflop race with pocket sevens against the K-Q of Pablo Brito Silva to fall to the bottom of the leaderboard, though, and was unable to recover. He ultimately got his last chips in with pocket threes, only to run into the pocket nines of ‘Alexgirs’. The larger pair flopped middle set, and a blank on the turn left Dvoress drawing dead. The Canadian tournament star, who has nearly $15.7 million in live tournament earnings, cashed for $303,273 as the fifth-place finisher.
Pieter ‘XMorphineX’ Aerts began the day as the leader, but fell to the shortest stack during four-handed play. He three-bet shoved over the top of ‘Alexgirs’ button raise holding A6, only to have the chip leader make the call with AJ. Both players paired their ace, but the jack kicker played by the river and Aerts was knocked out in fourth place. He earned $414,960 for his deep run.
The final three played for a bit before discussing a deal. The three agreed to redistribute the remaining prize money as follows:

Alex “dynoalot” Difelice – $722,075
The deal left the title and $50,000 left to play for. Difelice was able to build some momentum and even overtook the lead, but he tumbled back down the chip counts to become the clear short stack by the time the next big all-in and call took place. The Canadian got his last chips in with A2 up against the A3 of ‘Alexgirs’. Didelice flopped the nut flush draw, but ‘Alexgirs’ paired his three. Neither player improved on the turn or river and Difelice was knocked out in third place, taking home the $722,075 he negotiated for.
‘Alexgirs’ and 2020 MILLIONS South America main even winner Pablo ‘pabritz’ Brito Silva battled it out for a while, with multiple lead changes along the way. The decisive hand of the match saw ‘Alexgirs’ min-raise from the button to 2.8 million with KJ and Brito Silva three-bet to 8.75 million holding 53. ‘Alexgirs’ called and the flop brought the AA8. Brito Silva fired 4.2 million on the flop and ‘Alexgirs’ called. The 2 saw Brito Silva bet another 19.6 million. ‘Alexgirs’ called yet again with king high. The 6 river prompted Brito Silva to move all-in on a bluff, having ‘Alexgirs’ covered by around 7 big blinds. ‘Alexgirs’ made the call to risk his tournament life, and incredibly his king-high was indeed the best hand. With that he took more than a 14:1 chip lead. Brito Silva managed to hang around and earn one double up, but he eventually got his last 11 big blinds in with J5 and was called by KJ. The 109946 runout locked up the pot and the title for ‘Alexgirs’. Brito Silva took home the $764,942 agreed upon in the deal.
