In June of 2019, Kevin Gerhart took down the $1,500 Razz event at the World Series of Poker to earn his first gold bracelet. Just just shy of 13 months later, Gerhart won his second piece of WSOP hardware, defeating a field of 1,137 total entries to take down the 2020 WSOP Online $500 pot-limit Omaha six-max event. The former Ohio resident, now based out of Las Vegas, earned $97,572 as the champion of this event playing under the screen name ‘TheRealKG’.
The tournament drew 627 unique players, who collectively re-entred 510 times to grow the prize pool to $511,650. The top 150 finishers made the money, with a min-cash being worth $819. Plenty of notables made deep runs including Jamie ‘DanBilzerian’ Kerstetter (111th – $921), Phil ‘Lumestackin’ Hellmuth (95th – $921), Ryan “bitc0in” Riess (55th – $1,228), recent bracelet winner Ryan ‘joeyisamush’ Depaulo (51st – $1,381), Shaun ‘ddtgg’ Deeb (36th – $2,302), Daniel ‘DNegs’ Negreanu (25th – $2,814), Eric ‘huckcheevers’ Lindgren (21st – $3,531), Thomas ‘looter’ Marchese (12th – $5,935), and Connor ‘666666’ Drinan (11th – $5,935).
By the time the six-handed final table was set, Gerhart sat with more than 6 million while the next largest stack had less than 3 million. He extended his lead even further by scoring the first knockout at the final table. Shanmukha ‘Shanmukha’ Meruga raised to 560,000 preflop from the button holding 109
