The National Poker League UK Open event No. 2, a £500 no-limit hold'em tournament, brought 29 players to the Loose Cannon club in London, creating a prize pool of £14,500 for the second event of the inaugural NPL UK Open. The event was won by well-known high-stakes pro Dave "El Blondie" Colclough.

Going into the final table were Jason De Freitas with a chip lead of £32,700, Colclough (£27,050), Paul Ephremsen (£23,100), Hugh Mallally (£14,450), Stuart Nash (£11,100), and Albert Sapiano (£9,800).

Colcough and De Freitas got heads up, with De Fretias holding a slight lead of £500 in chips more than Colclough. This battle lasted a marathon 122 hands, climaxing when Defreitas open-shoved with A 7.

Colclough looked him up with K 8, and the flop came J 7 4. De Freitas held the lead on the flop with a pair of sevens, but the turn brought the K, now giving Colclough top pair and the lead. The river brought the K giving Colclough trip kings and the win.

It was Colclough's second final table in a row. The official results were:

  1. Dave Colclough (£5,600)
  2. Jason De Freitas (£3,500)
  3. Paul Ephremsen (£2,200)
  4. Hugh Mallally (£1500)
  5. Stuart Nash (£940)
  6. Albert Sapian (£760)
