A Las Vegas casino caught fire Friday afternoon and by the looks of video from the scene, gamblers weren’t in a hurry to leave.
The South Point Casino, located just a few miles south of the Las Vegas Strip, suffered a small electrical fire and a Vegas-based twitter account dubbed “Las Vegas Locally” tweeted video of the scene from the casino floor.
The footage showed that there was plenty of smoke entering the casino floor and the fire alarm was blaring through the speakers. Yet, nobody in either of the videos that were posted seemed eager to get out of the building.

Fun Fact: it's incredibly hard to get Vegas gamblers to evacuate a casino, even when that casino is on fire. pic.twitter.com/Oa6w2cmoK5

The lack of visible flames in the video led one commenter to question whether or not there was actually a fire and it was a false alarm, but poker pro Ronnie Bardah responded saying that he was at the property and there was indeed an electrical fire onsite.
I’m here, it was an electrical fire

Last October, firefighters responded to a call at the same property when there was a fire in one of its third-floor hotel rooms. The sprinklers extinguished most of the fire and there was very minimal damage.
Details about Friday’s fire are still scarce but given the lack of urgency to exit the building from most in the videos above, it seems likely that it will have a similar outcome.
