Martin Zamani came into the 2021 World Series of Poker Online series with more than $3 million in tournament earnings to his name, including big victories like his title run in the 2019 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure $25,000 high roller event. One accomplishment he did not yet have on his resume was a win in a WSOP gold bracelet event. That all changed when he defeated a field of 507 entries to win the 2021 WSOP Online $888 buy-in pot-limit Omaha ‘crazy eights’ event for $92,598 and his first bracelet.

Zamani might have found some extra motivation to rectify his lack of a bracelet from the fact that his brother Ben Zamani had already won two. Whatever fueled his run, Martin Zamani was able to overcome a tough final table to close out this event and remove his name from the list of the most accomplished players without a bracelet.

The top 72 finishers made the money in this event, with plenty of big names among those who cashed, including Michael ‘annie_r_u_ok’ Trivett (66th – $1,420), six-time WSOP Circuit gold ring winner Matt ‘RubberFist’ Stout (51st – $1,663), bracelet winner Yong Keun ‘LuckySpewy1’ Kwon (36th – $2,109), bracelet winner Michael ‘miguelfiesta’ Lech (18th – $3,001), bracelet winner Andrew ‘WATCHGUY42’ Lichtenberger (17th – $3,001), World Poker Tour main event winner Ema ‘Momma_says’ Zajmovic (12th – $4,583), and WPT champ Justin ‘Tamaratibles’ Young (10th – $4,583).

Kyle ‘Vin_Gambini’ Bowker (9th – $5,881) and Joseph ‘biueberry’ Cheong (8th – $5,881) were both knocked out in the same pot to set up a seven-handed final table. Shawn ‘Shadysteem’ Stroke held the lead to start, with Zamani in third chip position. Four-time bracelet winner Loren ‘BabyJesus’ Klein was the first to fall when his top two pair failed to hold up against the royal-flush draw of Zamani. The flush came in on the turn and Zamani held from there to send Klein to the rail with $10,221.

Bracelet winner Arkadiy ‘Crocofantos’ Tsinis’ run in this event came to an end when he ran into the pocket aces of Ryan ‘Joeyisamush’ Depaulo, who famously won his first bracelet from a parked car during last year’s WSOP Online series. Tsinis was awarded $13,872 as the sixth-place finisher. The player known only by their screen name ‘Bobbybaldwin’ was the next to be eliminated, earning $19,225 for making the final five.

Zamani earned his second knockout of the final table when his flopped straight with a redraw to a full house outran the flopped straight with a flush redraw of Depaulo. Zamani improved to boat on the river to take down the pot and eliminate Depaulo in fourth place ($27,094).

John ‘thirteen’ Del Rossi called all-in on a QHeart Suit4Club Suit3Club Suit flop holding ADiamond SuitKDiamond SuitKClub Suit9Heart Suit for an overpair. Zamani, who had put him all-in, held 8Heart Suit3Spade Suit3Diamond Suit2Heart Suit for bottom set. The turn was the 7Diamond Suit and the river the 4Spade Suit, giving Zamani a winning full house. Del Rossi was awarded $38,978 for his third-palce showing.

Zamani took a lead of roughly five big blinds into heads-up play with Shawn ‘Shadysteem’ Stroke. Only a fee minutes later, it was all over. All of the chips got in preflop with Zamani holding ASpade SuitADiamond Suit8Heart Suit2Diamond Suit against the KSpade SuitKClub Suit7Spade Suit3Diamond Suit of Stroke. The QHeart SuitJDiamond Suit4Spade Suit10Diamond SuitJHeart Suit runout locked up the pot and the title for Zamani. Stoke cashed for $57,068 as the runner-up.

Here is a look at the payouts awarded at the final table:
