Ryan ‘hagzzz021’ Hagerty finished fifth in the 2021 World Series of Poker Online $600 no-limit hold’em knockout event in the early hours of Friday, July 23. Less than 24 hours later, Hagerty managed to not only make another final table in a WSOP Online event, but come away with the title. Hagerty defeated a field of 624 entries in the WSOPO $500 no-limit hold’em turbo event, earning $67,207 and his first gold bracelet as the champion.
This was the third-largest score of Hagerty’s tournament career, behind his fourth-place finish in the 2020 WSOP $10,000 buy-in main event domestic tournament for $387,130 and his win in the 2019 WPTDeepStacks New York event for $70,865. He now has more than $900,000 in career earnings to his name.
Plenty of notables made deep runs in this event, including bracelet winner and World Poker Tour champion Chris ‘Robotbob47’ Moorman (83rd – $874), 2013 WSOP main event champion Ryan ‘bitc0in’ Riess (73rd – $906), Bernard ‘Dogger9’ Lee (61st – $1,062), 15-time bracelet winner Phil ‘Lumestackin’ Hellmuth (52nd – $1,156), up-and-coming high stakes tournament player Brock ‘ohmyguan’ Wilson (44th – $1,343), six-time bracelet winner Daniel ‘DNegs’ Negreanu (26th – $1,843), six-time WSOP Circuit ring winner Matt ‘RubberFist’ Stout (24th – $1,843), and bracelet winner Arkadiy ‘Crocofantos’ Tsinis (11th – $3,435).
The final table began with two-time bracelet winner Calvin ‘projector52’ Anderson in the lead and Hagerty in second chip position. There were a flurry of eliminations in the first 15 minutes of final table action, as one might expect from a turbo event. When the dust settled, Raymond ‘Tastemybeans’ Fillipone (9th – $4,403), Kyle ‘JackintheB0x’ Miholich (8th – $5,746) and ‘Lukaslo0413’ (7th – $7,651) had all been eliminated.
Just a few moments later, ‘sub_zer0’ (6th – $10,368) ran their pocket jacks into the pocket aces of Anthony ‘boom81boom’ Chin to narrow the field to just five players. Despite scoring that knockout, Chin was ultimately the next to fall. He got his last seven or so big blinds in with A

facing the pocket eights of Hagerty. The runout improved neither player and Chin was eliminated in fifth place ($10,368).
Calvin Anderson fell just a few spots short of securing his third bracelet, hitting the virtual rail when his Q
7 (jammed for around 10 big blinds from the button) failed to outrun the A
10 of Russel ‘njpincher’ Crane. Anderson took home $20,081 for his fourth-place showing.
Crane got his last chips in as a favorite, with 88 clashing against the A8 of Richard ‘Na_Cho_Cheez’ Liotta. Crane’s pair held up until the river, which saw the A hit the virtual felt to send Crane packing in third place ($28,669).
Liotta started heads-up play with a lead on Hagerty, but the tables were soon turned. Liotta was down to less than four big blinds when the final hand was dealt. Liotta shoved with AJ and Hagerty called with Q5. The board ran out Q92710 to lock up the pot and the title for Hagerty. Liotta was awarded $41,629 as the runner-up finisher.
