David Goldberg Wins World Series of Poker Online $1,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Championship

David Goldberg is the latest player to take down a gold bracelet at the 2021 World Series of Poker Online. The New Jersey resident outlasted a field of 398 total entries in the WSOPO $1,000 pot-limit Omaha championship event to lock up his first WSOP bracelet at the top prize of $86,440. This was the largest score of Goldberg’s career, topping the $54,810 he earned as the fourth-place finisher in the 1999 WSOP $1,500 limit hold’em event.

The top 54 finishers made the money in this event, including the likes of three-time bracelet winner Kristen ‘krissyb24’ Bicknell (25th – $1,945), World Poker Tour main event winner and high-stakes tournament regular Alex ‘OrcinusOrca’ Foxen (23rd – $2,606), bracelet winner and 2015 WSOP main event sixth-place finisher Tom ‘.BEAST.’ Cannuli (13th – $3,744), and Justin ‘Lappypoker’ Lapka (11th – $4,761), who on his first bracelet earlier this series and backed that up with an online WSOP Circuit ring win just a few days ago.

The final table began with Joseph ‘brandnflowrs’ Sanders in the chip lead and Goldberg in second place. Goldberg secured the first two eliminations at the final table, busting Blaze ‘skillz225’ Gaspari (8th – $7,561) and Andre ‘RiderStrong’ Nyffeler (7th – $10,131) to take the chip lead into six-handed play.

Chan Woo ‘Rikishi’ Kim was the next to fall, with their A993 failing to beat out the K10103 of Michael ‘BrockLesnar’ Holtz, who made a set of tens to take down the pot. Kim took home $13,544 as the sixth-place finisher.

Todd ‘Chi.T.420’ Sladek earned his first knockout of the day with quad kings, which bested the final hand of Robert ‘AuntWeesh’ Calca (5th – $18,316) to narrow the field to just four competitors. he followed that up by busting Joseph ‘brandnflowrs’ Sanders in fourth place. Sanders got all-in with AKQJ facing the KK63 of Sladek. Pocket kings were the best hand by the river and Sanders hit the rail with $25,620.

Michael ‘BrockLesnar’ Holtz’s run in this event came to an end when his K762 failed to beat out the AAK9 of Goldberg. Holtz turned two pair, sixes and two, but the river put a pair of fives on the board to give Goldberg aces up and the pot. Holtz cashed for $36,742 as the third-place finisher.

Sladek held a slight lead when the largest pot of the tournament took place. Goldberg raised to 300,000 on the button with 9974 and Sladek called with AK105. The flop came down 1053. Sladek checked and Goldberg bet 450,000. Sladek check-raised to 1,950,000 with his tens and fives. Goldberg moved all-in for 3,664,424 with his flush draw, straight outs and a live pair. Sladek called and the J hit the turn. The river was the 9, giving Goldberg a set of nines to take down the massive pot. Sladek was left with less than a big blind and was eliminated moments later, earning $53,406 as the runner-up.
