Antanas ‘Tony G’ Guoga secured his second title at the 2021 Super High Roller Bowl Europe, defeating a field of 26 entries to win the $100,000 buy-in short deck event just four days after taking down a $25,000 buy-in tournament playing the same game for $382,500. Guoga earned $1,169,000 as the champion of the six-figure buy-in event, the largest payday of his tournament career. He took to social media to celebrate his success:

Guoga’s two title runs in Cyprus saw him take home a total of $1,551,500, bringing his lifetime tournament earnings to just shy of $7.7 million. He also earned a total of 780 Card Player Player of the Year points with his two first-place finishes. While these were his first POY-qualified scores of the year, they were enough on their own to see him move within striking distance of the top 200 in the 2021 POY race, which is sponsored by Global Poker.
This latest victory also saw Gupga secure 400 PokerGO Tour rankings points. When combined with the 230 he earned in his victory earlier in the series, Guoga now sits in 22nd place on the PokerGO Tour leaderboard.
The final day began with World Series of Poker bracelet winner Danny Tang in the lead and Guoga in second chip position. Tang lost a key preflop showdown with Santi Jiang to fall out of the lead. He slid further when his flopped ten-high straight clashed against the flopped jack-high straight of Guoga.

K
of Guoga. Jiang earned $260,000 as the fourth-place finisher. Jiang has now made all four of the shrt deck event final tables, accumulating more than $1.2 million in cashes along the way. He won the $50,000 buy-in event in this discipline just two days prior to making this final table.
Tang was the next to be eliminated. He got all-in with K
10 against the pocket jacks of Paul Phua. The flop gave Phua a set of jacks. Tang picked up some outs on the turn, with trips kings and a straight draw. The 9 on the river was of no help, though, and Tang settled for $416,000 as the third-place finisher.
With that knockout, Phua took a slight lead into heads-up play. Guoga won a few pots early to edge into the lead. He was able to extend his advantage to more than a 2.5:1 lead by the time the final hand arose. Guoga limped in from the button with AK. Phua raised to 300,000 with A
A. Guoga limp-reraised all-in. Phua quickly called and the flop came down QQ8. Phua was a massive favorite, but Guoga picked up a lot of outs when the 7 turn gave him the nut flush draw. The 9 on the river completed his backdoor flush draw to lock up the title in dramatic fashion. Phua was awarded $728,000 for his runner-up finish. The score increased his career tournament earnings to more than $21.5 million.
