Ruslan Rishko Defeats 14,162-Entry Field To Win 2021 World Series of Poker Online Bounty Double MILLION$ Event

The 2021 World Series of Poker Online $210 buy-in ‘Bounty Double MILLION$’ no-limit hold’em event drew a massive field of 14,162 total entries, building a prize pool of $2,832,400 in this lower buy-in event. The final day of this event began with more than two thousand competitors remaining. In the span of roughly eight hours the field was narrowed down until just one player remained: Ruslan Rishko. The Canada-based player earned his first WSOP gold bracelet and $282,586 in total prize money for the win, with $194,096 from the main prize pool and another $88,490 in bounties secured via knockouts.

By the time the final table was set, Rishko had established himself as the clear chip leader. His 149,669,475 in chips was nearly three times as many as the second-largest stack, which belonged to Bruno Medalha.

Tien Thanh Nguyen was the first to hit the rail when his pocket queens failed to hold up against the A2 of Ales Lekse and the A9. Lekse made deuces full of aces to take down the pot and eliminate Nguyen in ninth place ($18,914).

Rishko earned two of the next three knockouts, adding to his lead as the field was trimmed to just five competitors. Lekse won a big preflop coinflip to secure the next elimination. His 88 outran the AQ of Stefan Nemetz (5th – $56,505). As a result, Lekse established himself as the second-largest stack behind Rishko heading into four-handed action.

A battle of the blinds saw Medalha surge back into second place, with his A-J beating the A-6 suited of Vitor Adiron (4th – $77,919). The jockeying for second place, with Lekse ultimately scoring the crucial blow when he doubled up through Rishko with A-10 beating out K-5 suited, which Rishko shoved from the button. Rishko rebounded from that hit by eliminating Medalha in third place ($114,602). Medalha got all-in with A8 facing the QQ. Rishko made a flush by the river to take more than a 3.5:1 chip lead into heads-up play with Lekse.

Just a handful of minutes into heads-up play, Rishko raised from the button with 55 and Lekse shoved from the big blind with A4. Rishko called and the board ran out 88326 to lock up the pot and the title for Rishko. Lekse earned $133,250 as the second-place finisher.
