After a long hiatus, PokerStars has announced that the European Poker Tour is set to return in December with the 2021 EPT Prague. The 59-event series will run from Dec. 8 – 19, 2021 at the Hilton Hotel Prague.
“We’re so excited to welcome our community back to our live poker felt with one of our most famous and well-loved poker tours,” said PokerStars Managing Director of Poker Severin Rasset. “It’s been such a long time coming and we’ve been working tirelessly and monitoring the situation carefully so that no stone is unturned for a safe return to live events and a great experience for our players. The health and safety of players and staff is of paramount importance and we have a number of measures in place to ensure everyone attending feels comfortable and confident. We’re looking forward to seeing the community and comradery from our players and we plan to announce more event details in the coming months. See you in Prague!”
The centerpiece of the whole affair will be the €5,300 buy-in EPT Prague no-limit hold’em main event, which is slated to run from Dec. 13-19. The last time this event was held, in 2019, Mikalai Pobal emerged victorious to become the second player to ever secure two EPT main event titles, following in the footsteps of Victoria Coren Mitchell. Pobal, who won EPT Barcelona in 2012, outlasted a field of 1,154 total entries in the event to earn €1,005,600 ($1,116,216 USD).
In addition to the main event, the 2021 EPT Prague will also play host to a €1,100 buy-in EPT Prague National event (Dec. 9 -13) and the €10,300 buy-in EPT Prague High Roller (Dec. 17-19).
