PokerTek Looking to MacauFirst Landing Happened at the Galaxy Star World Hotel |

Early last month, the first live poker appeared in the largest casino market in the world, Macau, when five electronic PokerTek PokerPro tables were installed at the Galaxy Star World Hotel. Four 10-player tables and one heads-up table were installed.
More may be on the way to Macau. Per regulations, a 90-day field trial must be made before any more of the machines can be installed in Macau, which is a special administrative region of China (China has two; Hong Kong in the other). Last year, its gambling revue surpassed Las Vegas', and just last week, the world's largest casino opened there.
After the trial, PokerTek's international distributor will begin to try to place the machines in the many casinos that are in Macau, said a PokerTek official.
The games spread are $5-$10 and $10-$20 no-limit hold'em, and $320 sit-and-gos.
