The first two World Series of Poker bracelets to be won in Europe were claimed within the last few days when Germany's Thomas Bihl and Italy's Dario Alioto won bracelets in the £2,650 H.O.R.S.E. and the £5,250 pot-limit Omaha events, respectively. Click here and here for stories about the events.

Today, the first tournament t o be called a "main event" by Harrah's begins with the £10,350 no-limit hold'em championship. This is a six-day event and will be played at a total of three different London casinos this week: The Casino at The Empire, the Fifty, and the Sportsman.

The first two events of this three-part series attracted 105 and 165 entrants, respectively, and it will be interesting to see how many people will enter the main event, which, because of exchange rates, will cost those who base their lives around the U.S. dollar close to $20,000.

The champion will be crowned sometime on Saturday. Stay tuned to CardPlayer.com for new news about this event.
