Detroit Casinos Win $122.8 Million In MarchMGM Grand Detroit Controls Nearly Half Of Market |

The three Detroit casinos reported $122.86 million in monthly aggregate revenue for March, according to figures from the Michigan Gaming Control Board.
Table games and slots generated $120.93 million in revenue, and retail sports betting produced $1.93 million in revenue. The gambling win was up from $113.84 million in March 2021, while the casinos were operating at limited capacity due to COVID-19.
The March market shares were:
MGM Grand Detroit led the way with 46%, followed by MotorCity Casino with 33% and Greektown Casino with 21%.
The three casinos paid the State of Michigan $9.8 million in taxes during March compared with $9 million for the same month last year.
The three Detroit casinos also reported submitting $14.4 million in wagering taxes and development agreement payments to the City of Detroit during March.
During March, retail sports betting at the casinos saw $26.3 million in handle and $1.9 million in winnings for the sportsbooks.
State taxes from the three Detroit casinos on retail sports betting was $72,891. The Detroit casinos also reported submitting $89,089 in retail sports betting taxes to Detroit.
