Michigan Online Gamblers Lose $131.67 Million In MarchNew Record For State's Internet Betting Market |

Michigan commercial and tribal operators reported a state record $131.67 million in online casino winnings in March, according to figures released by the Michigan Gaming Control Board.
The industry saw $122.8 million in February, the previous benchmark. Michigan began online casino gambling in January 2021.
Regulations also said that gross sports betting revenue for the month totaled $30.48 million. There was a combined $162.15 million in revenue from those two activities.
For the first quarter of 2022, online casino revenue totaled $338.3 million, and internet sports betting win was $29.9 million.
The $162.15 million was an increase of 11.6% from February, the state said.
Online casino win was 7.3% higher than in February, and internet sports betting adjusted gross win increased by $18.6 million compared with February.
Compared with March 2021, internet casino revenue rose 33.7%, and internet sports betting win fell 22.8%.
The sports betting handle in March was $451.6 million, up 13.4% compared with February.
The gambling operators submitted $24.7 million in taxes and payments to Michigan during March. Internet gaming taxes and fees were $23.9 million, while online sports betting taxes and fees were $805,334.
