New Jersey Gambling Win Up 20 Percent In April

Sports Betting Revenue Falls Year-Over-Year

The Garden State’s gambling industry turned in another strong month.

According to figures from the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement, total gaming revenue reported by casinos, racetracks, and their respective partners was $422.5 million for April 2022, reflecting a 20.0% increase from $352.2 million reported in April 2021.

Through the first four months of 2022, total gaming revenue was $1.6 billion, reflecting a 19% increase from $1.35 billion reported during the same period in 2021.

Retail casino win from the nine casino-hotel properties in Atlantic City was $235.3 million for April 2022, growth of 24.1% compared to $189.6 million for April 2021. Year-to-date retail casino win was $848 million, growth of 24.2% compared to $682.7 million for the same period in 2021.

For the month of April, online casino win reported by casinos and their partners was $136.9 million, up 27% compared to $107.7 million for April 2021. For year-to-date, online casino was $545.4 million, up 30.2% compared to $419.0 million for the first four months of last year.

Sports betting was $50.3 million last month, an 8.2% decrease when compared to $54.8 million in April 2021. Sports betting revenue through the first four months of 2022 was $207.8 million, down 14.9% compared to $244.2 million for the same period last year.
