World Series of Poker legend Chris Moneymaker is opening a card room in the state of Kentucky.

According to multiple media reports, Moneymaker, the 2003 World Series of Poker Main Event champion, will open a so-called social poker club in Paducah, Kentucky, located near the Illinois-Kentucky border. It’s unclear what connection Moneymaker has to Paducah, a town of roughly 25,000 residents.

The room won’t charge a traditional rake, as prohibited by state law.

Moneymaker, who currently lives in Mississippi, filed to register the business in June.

The poker room will be called Moneymaker’s Social Club. No photos of the business are available yet, and no opening date has been schedule, but it’s reportedly happening this summer.

Moneymaker expects to have about 10 poker tables in the establishment.

The card room will be located about two hours by car from Nashville, Tenn., and Moneymaker’s will surely look to capture some visitors from the major city.

The 46-year-old Moneymaker, who had two cashes at the 2022 WSOP through Thursday, was living in Tennessee when he won the 2003 Main Event.
