Fred ‘staeks’ Li took down one of the final few World Series of Poker Online bracelet events remaining in 2020. The Cleveland, Ohio resident defeated a field of 781 total entries in the $777 buy-in ‘Lucky 7’s second chance’ no-limit hold’em event, earning $159,059 and his first WSOP gold bracelet as the champion.
This was Li’s first six-figure tournament score. It surpassed his previous highest payday of $71,500, which he secured as the third-place finisher in 2021 WSOP Online $500 buy-in event that featured a $1 million guarantee.
Li now has more than $320,000 in total recorded tournament earnings to his name.
It took just over 11 hours for this event to play down to a champion. There were plenty of notables among the 167 players to make the money, including two-time bracelet winner Calvin Anderson (34th), Jesse Lonis (20th), four-time bracelet winner David Peters (15th), bracelet winner Jason Gooch (13th), bracelet winner Raj Vohra (12th), and bracelet winner Sang Lee (11th).
The final table also featured plenty of big names, including seven-time WSOP Circuit ring winner Vincent ‘Allinvin138’ Moscati (9th – $11,538), Michael ‘LatinoLoco’ Acevedo (7th – $19,915), recent bracelet winner Dominick ‘flow_cold’ Sarle (6th – $26,667), and World Poker Tour champion Bobby ‘Ericartmenez’ Oboodi (4th – $49,914).
In the end, Li beat out Zach ‘zoks7’ Okin for the title, winning a flip with A10 beating 88 on a 76410K runout. Okin took home $98,291 as the runner-up finisher.
