While most of the online poker world may have been watching the $2 million-guaranteed World Championship of Online Poker event being held at PokerStars, Full Tilt was also holding a huge event, its monthly $1 million guarantee. UltimateBet and Bodog held their regularly scheduled major Sunday events, as well, making for a full plate of poker this weekend.

Chad 'lilholdem954' Batista This weekend also saw the top spot of the Card Player Online Player of the Year (OPOY) leader board switch hands and a newcomer vault into the top 10. Both Chad "lilholdem954" Batista and Isaac "westmenloAA" Baron made some modest progress this weekend as they accumulated a few OPOY points. Batista earned 572 points on Sunday, 480 of which were from a win in the Full Tilt Sunday Mulligan. His first-place finish there earned him more than $37,000. He currently sits in fifth place on the leader board. Baron earned 72 points for finishing in 19th place ($10,544) in the massive, $2 million-guaranteed fifth event of the WCOOP. He is currently in third in the standings.

Matt 'ch0ppy' Kay It was Matt "ch0ppy" Kay, however, that made the most significant movement on the leader board. Kay finished in second in the PokerStars $100 rebuy tournament last night as well as 18th in the UltimateBet $200,000-guaranteed tournament. Sorel 'Imper1um' MizziHis combined winnings for those two finishes earned him 224 points and almost $27,000. Those points pushed him into first place in the standings with 6,374 points. He edged ahead of longtime leader Sorel "Imper1um" Mizzi, who currently has 6,240 points in second place.

Full Tilt $1 Million Guarantee

The Full Tilt $1 million-guaranteed tournament had 2,228 entrants last night, generating a total prize pool of $1,114,000. The final table of the event had quite a few notable players, including Jcarver (aka Taknapotin), TenthPlanet, and jalla79. All three players have considerable results in online poker tournaments so far this year. Jalla79 had taken down event No. 3 of the WCOOP, the sixhanded pot-limit Omaha event, the previous night, earning $73,738. He finished in sixth place here, for $35,648, meaning he had a weekend worth almost $110,000. TenthPlanet eventually busted out right behind jalla79 in fifth place, earning $49,573. Jcarver wound up taking the entire tournament down, earning himself $204,363 and 1,440 in OPOY points. Those points pushed him into the top 10 on the OPOY leader board.
