There was a bit of a sweat, but in the end there were enough players in the Card Player Poker Tour Venetian main event to avoid an overlay. The $2,500 buy-in event drew a field of 363, creating an overall prize pool of $816,750.
There are 82 players remaining, and just over half will make the money with the final 46 all guaranteed at least $5,430. Those who make the final table will pocket at least $14,400, and the winner is set to take home $176,221.
Of the 158 players who entered on day 1C, it was Jayakrishnan Nair who ran away with the overnight chip lead, bagging 675,000 after 14 levels of play.
Other notables making it through included Ryan Riess, Ankush Mandavia, Andrew Lichtenberger, Barry Shulman, Michael Rossitto, and Anthony Spinella. The overall leader is still Dan Colpoys, amassed a whopping 825,000 on day 1A.
