The complete schedule of events has been announced for the 2023 World Series of Poker. The 54th annual WSOP is set to run from May 30 through July 18, with 95 gold bracelets to be awarded at the Horseshoe Las Vegas and Paris Las Vegas, which will return as the home of the series after a successful debut in 2022.

In addition to the live events on offer, there will also be 34 online bracelets awarded this year, with 20 for WSOP.com players in Nevada and New Jersey, as well as seven each for the Michigan and Pennsylvania sites. That means that at least 129 bracelets will be won in 2023, with the WSOP Europe and a standalone WSOP Online likely to be announced at a later date.

“With the momentum generated from the WSOP’s debut on the Las Vegas Strip last year, we expect a record-breaking WSOP and World Championship at Paris and Horseshoe Las Vegas in 2023," said Ty Stewart, SVP & Executive Director of the WSOP. “If the main event is on your bucket list, this is the year to get to Vegas.”

As Stewart mentioned, there will be an organizational emphasis placed on making this year’s main event the largest in the history of the series. The 2023 WSOP $10,000 buy-in no-limit hold’em world championship is scheduled for July 3-17, with several moves made by organizers, dubbed ‘Main Event Mania’, with the design of breaking the record turnout of 8,773 entries set in 2006. The 2022 running came incredibly close to breaking the record, drawing 8,663 entries to become the second-largest field ever.

To start, this year’s main event will see at least 600 seats awarded to players by GGPoker. Another 112 guaranteed seats will be awarded on WSOP.com from June 25 to July 8 in the lead-up to the big dance, with 10 seats guaranteed per day.

There will also be a new ‘Global Qualification Weekend’ being held May 20-21 that will see select live card rooms from around the globe offer guaranteed seat satellites to send local players to the 2023 main event. Participating venues will offer a $140 buy-in step tournament and a mega satellite at $1,175, which will award a seat into the big dance and a travel stipend. More info, including the list of participating venues, is available at www.wsop.com/mainevent.

Should the main event field set a record this year, a drawing will be held with all entrants eligible that will award one lucky player a non-transferable main event buy-in for the next 30 years. This ‘main event for life’ drawing would be held on Saturday, July 8th if the record is broken.

Notable Additions and Changes for 2023

There are plenty of new events and tweaks from last year’s schedule for the 2023 WSOP. One big change is that the Tournament of Champions has been moved to the opening week, after being the last bracelet event offered in 2022. According to the WSOP’s press release, "The 2023 field will be limited to those winning a WSOP Circuit ring at a live event or during a WSOP.com/WSOP.ca/GGPoker.net online circuit from July 20, 2022 to May 22, 2023, as well as winners from WSOP Online 2022 (WSOP.com/WSOP.ca/GGPoker.net) and WSOP Europe 2022. Registration for the 2023 Tournament of Champions will open on Tuesday, May 30 at 9:00 a.m. and 2023 bracelet winners will be eligible for the 2024 tournament.

This year will also see the popular Million Dollar Bounty event from last summer become the $1,000 Mystery Millions, with a seven-figure payday guaranteed to the tournament winner in addition to the $1,000,000 guaranteed top bounty prize. The event kicks off with the first of our starting flights on May 31.

The $300 buy-in ‘Gladiators of Poker’ will feature a $3 million guaranteed prize pool, with four starting flights to choose from (June 7-10). The first-ever $1,500 buy-in short deck event is set to kick off on July 12, while the inaugural stand-alone Badigui bracelet event debuts on June 7. The first Big O (five-card pot-limit Omaha eight-or-better) bracelet event gets underway on June 17.

For high rollers, there are a few new events that feature buy-ins of $10,000 or higher this year, including the $25,000 six-max no-limit hold’em event (May 30), the $10,000 secret bounty (June 14), and the $25,000 H.O.R.S.E. (July 10).
