RunGood Poker Series Checkpoint Event Kicks Off Feb. 28 Graton Resort & Casino

The $800 No-Limit Hold'em Main Event (Mar. 3-5) Features A $250,000 Guaranteed Prize Pool

The RunGood Poker Series is heading to Graton Resort & Casino near the Bay Area in northern California for the next stop RGPS Checkpoint stop from Feb. 28 – Mar. 8, 2023. The series will feature a total of 22 events, with plenty of ring events including the $250,000 guaranteed $800 buy-in no-limit hold’em, RGPS Checkpoint Graton main event that is scheduled to run Feb. 3-5.

The ‘Checkpoint’ namesake of the current RGPS season is a reference to the tour’s commitment to giving thanks to U.S. service members abroad. According to the tournament schedule for this series, “Every side event this season will ship a care kit out, and every main event ten care kits. Limited edition RGPS Checkpoint hats will be available for purchase that will also send a care kit out. Join us this year as we play cards with a purpose.”

Main event players will start with 30,000 in chips, with registration open until the start of level 9, The top 12.5 percent of the field in each of the four starting flights will make the money. The starting flights will have 30-minute blind levels, which will increase to 40 minutes for the final day of action.

The 2022 RGPS main event at Graton featured a $600 buy-in and a $200,000 guarantee. Kulwant Singh emerged victorious from a record-setting field of 1,144 entries in that event to earn the title, the ring, and the top prize of $100,070. This was the first turnout of more than a thousand entries for a RGPS main event.

In addition to the marquee main event, this year’s series includes a wide variety of other ring events, with many different games, formats, and price points to choose from. Highlights from the complete schedule include the $50,000 guaranteed $360 buy-in Mega Stack ring event (Mar. 1-2), a $25,000 guaranteed $250 buy-in Monster Stack ring event (Mar. 6-8), and a $250 buy-in Seniors (50+) no-limit hold’em ring event.

There will also be several bounty events to choose from, and a number of mixed game offerings including a pot-limit Omaha ring event, a limit Omaha eight-or-better ring event, an OE ring event, and a mixed Omaha (PLO, Big O, and PLO8) ring event.
