The 2023 Triton Super High Roller Series North Cyprus poker festival is now two-thirds of the way complete, with ten of the fifteen scheduled events completed so far at the Merit Royal Diamond Hotel & Spa. There has already been $37.1 million in prize money awarded so far, with tens of millions likely to be paid out in the coming days.
While most of the events on the schedule feature live-streaming coverage of final table action, there were two events over the past weekend that wrapped up away from the lights and cameras.
The first was the $25,000 buy-in pot-limit Omaha tournament. The event attracted 37 entries, creating a prize pool of $925,000 that was ultimately paid out among the top six finishers.
In the end, 30-year-old American poker pro Chris Brewer emerged victorious with the title and the top prize of $292,449. This was his second Triton event win, having also taken down a short deck event at the 2022 Triton Madrid festival. He now has more than $9.6 million in lifetime tournament earnings, with nearly $2 million of that coming from cashes on this tour.
Brewer has won three titles already in 2023, with a pair of high-roller event victories earned at the European Poker Tour Paris Festival. With ten final-table finishes, 3,323 total Card Player Player of the Year points, and more than $2.8 million in to-date POY earnings, Brewer now sits in seventh place in the overall POY race standings presented by Global Poker.
Brewer defeated Triton titles leader Jason Koon heads-up, denying his countryman a record-extending seventh win on the tour. Koon secured his sixth victory just over a week earlier, taking down the $20,000 no-limit hold’em seven max event for his sixth Triton trophy. Koon earned $239,551 as the runner-up, bringing his lifetime tournament earnings to nearly $44.5 million, which is good for sixth on poker’s all-time money list.
Koon climbed to 26th place on the POY leaderboard after this latest deep run. He has two wins, seven final tables, and more than $2.5 million in earnings accrued so far in 2023.
Here is a look at the payouts and POY points awarded at the final table:

The second event to wrap up away from the featured tables was the $50,000 buy-in no-limit hold’em turbo. Bracelet winner Danny Tang came out on top of the fast-paced affair, outlasting a field of 32 entries to secure his second Triton title and the top prize of $545,000.
Tang had secured his first win on this tour earlier this year, taking down a $25,000 short deck event at the stop in Vietnam for $427,000. He now has more than $6.2 million in earnings in Triton events, and $14.6 million in overall recorded tournament cashes.
Tang has made four final tables this year, and has come away with the title three out of four times. In addition to the previously mentioned short deck win, he also took down a smaller $4,500 buy-in event at the Poker Dream Malaysia series for $71,551.
Tang overcame a final table that featured two winners from earlier in the series: kickoff event champion Santhosh Suvarna (2nd – $376,000) and Ding Biao (5th – $144,000).
Fourth-place finisher Brian Kim was at his seventh final table of the year. He has now cashed for nearly $2.1 million in POY earnings in 2023 after factoring in the $184,000 he earned in this event. This deep run saw him move into 19th place in the standings.
