Lau, Kalfas, and Lipsey Latest Winners Decided At Card Player Poker Tour bestbet Jacksonville

The 2023 Card Player Poker Tour bestbet Jacksonville series has now seen more than half of its nine events decide a winner. More than $386,000 in prize money has been paid out through the first five events, thanks to the nearly 1,300 entries made so far. Those totals are set to increase in a major way when the CPPT bestbet Jacksonville $300,000 guaranteed $1,700 buy-in no-limit hold’em mystery bounty event gets underway with the first of three starting flights on Thursday, Aug. 17. CPPT bestbet Jacksonville Event 3 – $300 No-Limit Hold’em

A total of 92 entries were made in the $300 buy-in no-limit hold’em event that ran on Monday, Aug. 14. The $22,540 prize pool was ultimately paid out among the top 13 finishers, with the largest share going to Conrad Lau. A deal was struck between Lau and runner-up David Trager that saw Lau secure $5,488 and the title, while Trager was awarded $5,000 as the runner-up.

Lau now has nearly $153,000 in recorded tournament earnings, with his largest score being a second-place showing in a $350 buy-in event held at bestbet Jacksonville back in 2015. He took home $20,000 for his runner-up finish in that 418-entry tournament. Incredibly, the third-place finisher in that event was none other than Trager, who cashed for $10,404 that time.

Trager is having quite the 2023. This spring he recorded his largest score ever, placing second in a $1 million guaranteed event during a World Poker Tour stop for $288,485. He now has more than $737,000 in lifetime cashes to his name.

Trager also secured 72 Card Player Player of the Year points for his latest podium finish. This was his sixth final-table showing of the year, with nearly $330,000 in to-date POY earnings accrued across those deep runs. As a result, Trager now sits within reach of the top 500 in the 2023 POY race, which is presented by Global Poker.

Chris Read, who won this year’s Lodge Championship Series ladies event for $28,466, placed fourth for $2,058.

CPPT bestbet Jacksonville Event 4 – $400 No-Limit Hold’em

The next event on the schedule was a $400 buy-in no-limit hold’em tournament that took place on Tuesday, Aug. 15. A total of 68 entries were made by the time registration came to an end, building a $22,440 prize pool.

The top nine finishers made the money, with Fred Kalfas III capturing the title and the largest chunk of the prize money ($4,993) after a three-way deal brought the event to a close.

William Rayl and Jason Simmons finished second and third, with each securing $4,992 for their efforts.

Seventh-place finisher Eddie Rayl surpassed $211,000 in career tournament earnings thanks to the $961 he earned for his strong showing.

CPPT bestbet Jacksonville Event 5 – $300 Big O

Next up on the agenda was the $300 Big O event that also took place on Aug. 15. The five-card Omaha eight-or-better tournament drew 79 entries, creating a $19,355 prize pool.

Zane Lipsey scooped the largest portion of the prize pool, earning $3,192 and the title after a six-way deal was stuck. The other five players involved in the deal all earned $2,700 for making the top six in the tournament.

This was the second live tournament title won by Lipsey, having previously taken down a $350 pot-limit Omaha eight-or-better event during the 2018 WPT bestbet Bounty Scramble series for $5,000.

Bradley Bragg finished ninth for $593. This was his second final table of the series, having won the second event on the schedule for $6,026 just a few days earlier.
