Tom Orpaz is the player to beat so far at the 2023 European Poker Tour Barcelona festival. The Israeli resident was made three high roller final tables in the past eight days in the Spanish poker hotbed, securing two titles and nearly $915,000 in prize money along the way.

Orpaz’s latest victory saw him defeat a field of 24 entries in the €50,000 buy-in n0-limit hold’em event, earning a career-best payday of $477,835 as the champion. That win came just six days removed from his win in a €25,000 high roller which saw him take home $275,918.

Orpaz kicked off his incredible run with a third-place showing in yet another high-stakes event just a couple of days before he broke through and secured his first of two trophies at the festival. He earned $154,656 for his podium finish in that €10,200 buy-in mystery bounty affair.

The real estate investor from Tel Aviv has now made eight total final tables in 2023, accruing 1,475 Card Player Player of the Year points and more than $1 million in POY earnings along the way. As a result, he has moved inside the top 250 in the POY rankings presented by Global Poker.

“I’ve reached my goal. My goal was to make more than a million dollars in winnings and at least one trophy. I’ve got two of them and at least a million dollars. And we’re still here, right,” Orpaz told PokerNews reporters after his most recent title run.

Orpaz overcame a tough final table on his way to this latest victory, outlasting the likes of 2019 EPT Barcelona €25,000 runner-up Gerard Pique (6th), two-time bracelet winner Justin Saliva (5th), nine-time bracelet winner Erik Seidel (4th), Triton Super High Roller Series Cyprus $30,000 six-max event winner Ding Biao, and Tsugunari Toma, who won a €10,300 buy-in event at the 2019 EPT Prague stop.

Here is a look at the payouts and POY points awarded at the final table:
